I installed this item on my back patio door. The door is an outward swinging door. The lock comes with clear cut instructions however this specific outward lock intake a few more technical steps to get it installed. You do have to drill into the door you want to secure so if you don’t like that option I’d look else where. The screws on the door come with a nice magnetic plate to cover up all the screws and holes. The lock mechanism secures to the magnet when not in use.
