Can FlipLok be installed in apartments and temporary housing?

Yes! FlipLok can be installed in apartments, dorms, etc. Though a lot of landlords want to control access to units, so we recommend requesting permission first. The installation process is much like a photo frame; the residual screw holes can be filled and painted to look new! Guaranteed safety is just a flip away.

Can anyone in my family use it?

Do you offer a military discount?

FlipLok is designed for easy use by family members of all ages. The flip mechanism requires minimal force and can be operated by children, elderly family members, and anyone with limited mobility.

Door Compatibility

Will FlipLok work with my door?

FlipLok works with 95% of standard residential doors. It requires a door frame with at least 1/2 inch clearance and works with both wood and metal doors. If you’re unsure, send us photos of your door frame and we’ll confirm compatibility within 1 business day

Will the FlipLok work on French Doors?

Yes! The inward FlipLok will work on INWARD French Doors as long as one of them is stationary. (locking into place on the top and bottom of the frame)

What's the difference between Inward and Outward models?

The Inward model is designed for doors that open toward the inside (most common in homes), mounting on the interior door frame. The Outward model is for doors that open away from you, with enhanced weather resistance for exterior mounting.

Can I install FlipLok on a rental property?

Absolutely! FlipLok is 100% renter-friendly. It requires only a few drilled holes, and 4 screws. The lock can be completely removed and holes filled to hide any damage.

What Doors Should I Install them on?

Any room you would like to transform into a safe room. That could be your front door, your bathroom, your bedroom, or all the doors in your home. We also have a commercial FlipLok for schools and offices

How to install the FlipLok?

What tools do I need to install it?

Philips screwdriver or a small drill can be used for ease of installation; refer to the installation manual/video. Takes less than five minutes.

What is the small vial included in my fliplok?

That is a little bit of of thread locker intended for the central bolt to ensure the FlipLok doesn’t disassemble.

What do I do if my FlipLok disassembled?

There should have been a small bottle of thread locker included in the packaging. If it is missing, email [email protected] to get it sent to you at no cost. Then reassemble with the grooved end of the rotating shaft facing the bottom, the Allen bolt on top and thread locker on the threads to lock it all into place.

How long does installation really take?

Most customers complete installation in under 5 minutes. Requires 1 tool: screwdriver – or a drill to make it even faster. Just position, flip, and lock. Our installation video shows the complete process step-by-step.

Can I install FlipLok with a metal door jamb?

Yes, you can. If there is a wooden stud behind the jamb, all you have to do is drill a small hole for the screws to reach the stud. If there is not, then you will have to purchase self tapping screws to secure it to your metal jamb.

What if I order the wrong model?

No worries! We offer free exchanges within 30 days. Simply contact our support team ([email protected]) and we’ll send you a prepaid return label for the exchange.

What's your return policy?

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

What if my FlipLok breaks or stops working?

FlipLok has only 1 moving part to break and requires no maintenance. In the rare case of any issues, contact support ([email protected]) and we’ll work resolve it immediately.

Do you offer installation support?

Yes! We provide installation videos, step-by-step guides, and live customer support. If you have any issues during installation, our team can walk you through the process via phone or video call.

School safety questions

Is FlipLok ADA compliant?

Yes. FlipLok is designed to meet ADA accessibility requirements and does not require keys, tight grasping, pinching, or fine motor skills to operate.

Does FlipLok meet fire code requirements?

FlipLok is designed to support egress requirements and is reviewed with local authorities having jurisdiction prior to installation to ensure compliance with applicable fire codes.

How fast can a classroom be locked with FlipLok?

FlipLok allows a classroom to be secured in under two seconds without the use of keys, codes, or special training.

Can FlipLok be installed on existing classroom doors?

Yes. FlipLok is designed to retrofit onto existing doors and can be installed in minutes without replacing existing hardware.
