Yes! FlipLok can be installed in apartments, dorms, etc. Though a lot of landlords want to control access to units, so we recommend requesting permission first. The installation process is much like a photo frame; the residual screw holes can be filled and painted to look new! Guaranteed safety is just a flip away.

FlipLok is designed for easy use by family members of all ages. The flip mechanism requires minimal force and can be operated by children, elderly family members, and anyone with limited mobility.

Door Compatibility

FlipLok works with 95% of standard residential doors. It requires a door frame with at least 1/2 inch clearance and works with both wood and metal doors. If you’re unsure, send us photos of your door frame and we’ll confirm compatibility within 1 business day

Yes! The inward FlipLok will work on INWARD French Doors as long as one of them is stationary. (locking into place on the top and bottom of the frame)

 
The Inward model is designed for doors that open toward the inside (most common in homes), mounting on the interior door frame. The Outward model is for doors that open away from you, with enhanced weather resistance for exterior mounting.
Absolutely! FlipLok is 100% renter-friendly. It requires only a few drilled holes, and 4 screws. The lock can be completely removed and holes filled to hide any damage.

Philips screwdriver or a small drill can be used for ease of installation; refer to the installation manual/video. Takes less than five minutes.
That is a little bit of of thread locker intended for the central bolt to ensure the FlipLok doesn’t disassemble.

There should have been a small bottle of thread locker included in the packaging. If it is missing, email info@fliplok.com to get it sent to you at no cost. Then reassemble with the grooved end of the rotating shaft facing the bottom, the Allen bolt on top and thread locker on the threads to lock it all into place.

Most customers complete installation in under 5 minutes. Requires 1 tool: screwdriver – or a drill to make it even faster. Just position, flip, and lock. Our installation video shows the complete process step-by-step.

 
Yes, you can. If there is a wooden stud behind the jamb, all you have to do is drill a small hole for the screws to reach the stud. If there is not, then you will have to purchase self tapping screws to secure it to your metal jamb.

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.
